This original painting is part of my Machines of California Industry series for Tru Protection brand cell phone cases. It's one of six paintings (so far) that pay homage to iconic vintage machines symbolizing places and times in California’s profound contribution to American culture. The early Apple computers helped launch a world (the one we all live in) and an industry (the one we can’t live without). I chose bright orange as a background color because it helps invoke a specific time and place: the ’70s, Palo Alto, the beginning of Apple, Silicon Valley, and the Digital Age.
